As an instructional designer, Iwona provides pedagogical support to faculty wanting to design online courses. She works with media specialists to ensure courses are developed to fulfill the department’s and course author’s vision.
Iwona is currently pursuing an MSc in Digital Education online with the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, UK. Her academic background includes a BA in Teaching English as a Second Language and an MA in Applied Linguistics. Having taught in face-to-face, blended, and online modalities in Canada, the UK, and Poland, she is passionate about creating engaging learning experiences that help diverse students achieve their goals. In 2013, while working for a non-profit organization in Manitoba, she designed and developed a summer MOOC for newcomers in Canada that was nominated for a British Council’s international award in local innovation. She strives to never stop learning and experimenting with new pedagogies and technologies to meet the demands of the education and employment futures. She enjoys learning languages, and is currently learning Michif. Being in nature and hiking with her two labrador retrievers brings her joy.
